Targets (教學目標)

• Give an introduction to traditional surveying techniques
• Understand the importance of time and close contact with the building to achieve a good documentation and a good understanding of the fabric
• Experience the peculiarity of cultural heritage documentation
• Interest students in their local heritage

Outline (教學內容綱要)

The class consists mainly of practical sessions on the field.

Detailed survey of architectural elements in the Dou-Liu area: Reconnaissance of the object to survey, photographic documentation, survey planning, definition of references, traditional survey (tape measures, plumblines, water levelling...) with drawing in-situ, inking, watercolouring.

Assessment

Results of the surveying exercise, participation during the class.
